ISA-STAIR CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR AWARD 2024

STAIR

The Science, Technology and Art in International Relations (STAIR) Section of the International Studies Association is seeking nominations for the 2024 Distinguished Scholar Award.

The STAIR Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes senior scholars whose work has made an enduring and ground-breaking contribution to the study of science, technology, and art, in the fields of International Relations and International Political Economy. Nominees for the award will be innovative scholars who have developed new methods, or whose work has fostered new theoretical momentum, at the interface between IR, IPE, and Science, Technology and Art Studies. Due to the uniquely interdisciplinary nature of the STAIR section, nominations will be encouraged especially on behalf of scholars who have, in the course of their careers, produced impactful work at the boundaries of these diverse areas of specialization. They may also be those who have made an outstanding impact in terms of service in these areas, through…

PayPal Problem Fixed, Chair/Discussant Volunteers Needed!

As you may know, last week our PayPal link for paying conference registration fee went down for some reason. However, the link has now been restored and you should be able to pay your registration fee. We have extended the early bird registration period to January 27, 2023.

A preliminary program is available online at: Program & Submissions | CAUCUS FOR A CRITICAL POLITICAL SCIENCE (ccpsconference.org). We need participants to volunteer to serve as panel chair/discussants. As we are a very small conference this year, it is incumbent that everyone contribute to the conference as a chair/discussant if possible. Please let us know if you can serve as a chair/discussant for any of the panels.

PayPal Problem

On January 1, 2023, for reasons unknown, our PayPal method ceased to function. We are trying to get the matter addressed. We are extending the early bird rate deadline to January 20, 2023, and hope to have service resumed before then. We will post here, as updates become available.

Please bear with us. ~

Sincerely,

CCPS conference organization team (Jan 15, 2023)

3rd Biennial Conference of the Caucus for a Critical (formerly New) Political Science Announced!

Dear Conference of the CCPS Participant:

The 3rd Biennial Conference of the Caucus for a Critical (formerly New) Political Science has been rescheduled for February 26-28, 2023 at the Isla Grand Beach Resort in South Padre Island Texas. Please see Program & Submissions page.

As I indicated in our communications announcing the cancelation of the 2022 conference, anyone who was accepted to the 2022 conference will automatically be rolled forward into the 2023 conference. Consequently, if you were previously accepted, please get in touch with us via our ccpsconference@yahoo.com email address, and let us know which of the following situations best describes your situation at the present time:

  • I plan to attend the 2023 conference and present the same paper submitted and accepted previously (automatic rollover).
  • I plan to attend the 2023 conference, but I plan to submit a different paper/title/topic (automatic rollover, but you will need to respond to the call for papers with a new abstract).
  • I do not plan to attend the 2023 conference. Please remove my name and paper from the conference program

Please note that as a result of the organization’s recent name change (from New Political Science to Critical Political Science), the new conference website can be found at: http://www.ccpsconference.org

(Please bear with us as we migrate, rebrand, and update the website in the coming weeks).
The conference email address is now ccpsconference@yahoo.com.

Sincerely,

Clyde W. Barrow, Conference Co-Convenor
William Sokoloff, Conference co-Convenor

2022 Conference POSTPONED!

We regret to announce that the 2022 CNPS Conference has been postponed to the end of February 2023.

For reasons related to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Coordinating Council of the Conference for a New Political Science (now Critical Political Science) has voted today (January 12) to postpone the Biennial Conference until late February 2023.

Please note that the Coordinating Council has agreed that anyone accepted as a paper presenter for the 2022 conference will be guaranteed a slot at the 2023 conference either to present the same paper or to present a different paper as the individual participant chooses once we open the next call for papers. Our experience up to this time is that if you have already purchased an airfare, you should contact your airline immediately and they will likely grant you a travel credit with no exchange fee that you can use at a later date.

We will begin planning immediately for the 2023 conference (to be held at the same location and at approximately the same time of year). We will post more details on the new schedule as soon as we can.
